METHODS

The method that was presented through this research project was a sit down, filmed interview with a total of six interviewees. All interviewees study at Queen's University. The interviewees were split up into three categories:

1. Producers (1 past producer, 1 producer in charge now)

2. Production Team Members (1 past, 1 involved in Embrace)

3. Audience Members (1 who has seen DSS in the past, 1 who Embrace was their first experience)

Each participant was given a list of questions in advanced. All participants were asked the same questions in hopes of finding a pattern amongst each participant to find a conclusion to our research question.

Can you describe what it was like working for Dan Studio Series?
Have you worked with Dan Studio Series prior to this year? If so, do you notice any major changes?
What was your initial reaction to DSS: Embrace?
Did you like the overall addition to other performing art aspects, such as dance and/or music?
Did you find other performing art aspects in a theatrical piece confusing and/or distracting? Why or why not?
Did the other performing art aspects augment, or diminish the overall experience for you? Why?
What was the overall message that DSS: Embrace was trying to get across?
Do you think Dan Studio Series should continue down this path, or return to their original platform in 2016-2017?
Is there anything they could improve on to enhance their future instalments?
